ATA Trucking Australia 2024 Conference

1 May, 2024

In addition to our Roller Brake testing equipment being shipped locally into NSW, Victoria and Queensland in recent weeks, we have been building our Australian Made Brake testers and shipping them off to the Northern Hemisphere, to assist with Road Safety initiatives in the USA!

We recently attended the Australian Trucking Association “ATA”, Trucking Australia 24 “TA 24” conference in Canberra, which was a sold-out event once again.

The event was held @ the National Convention Centre Canberra (NCCC).
With more than 400 delegates and a 300+ daily attendance, this conference helps us stay up to date, engage with fellow delegates, and once again it was a successful & enjoyable Road Transport Industry focused annual event.

The Trucking Australia was packed with 28 sessions and social events and over 56 speakers.

Industry awards were presented- https://www.truck.net.au/media/media-releases/2024-national-trucking-industry-award-winners-announced

There were numerous excellent presentations including:

  • a research project by Adam Gibson of National Transport Insurance “NTI” on the stability issues observed in the Milk Transport sector- https://www.nti.com.au/better-business-hub/spilt-milk  NTI You Tube Video presentation – https://youtu.be/MGS-_GGjkFs?feature=shared
  • a national effort to improve safety, and reduce Level Train Crossing collisions, report show that between July 2014 and December 2022 there have been 322 collisions, 49 serious injuries and 39 fatalities recorded. With key solutions showing improved vegetation controls at or near our estimated 23,000 level crossings, with a safety awareness program, the addition on level crossing awareness on pre-start checks, and illumination on Trains https://www.truck.net.au/media/media-releases/require-train-lighting-law  being key solution for the reduction of incidents.
